, CA. Dr. Paul specializes in couples therapy, and works effectively with individuals, teenagers, and families.
Following a long work history in the business world, Dr. Paul enrolled in graduate school at USIU/AIU in
to complete her post graduate education in psychology. She completed her Ph.D. in 1993 and was licensed as a marriage and family therapist in 1993. Her interest in Bowen Family Systems theory led her to the Special Post Graduate program at the Center for the Study of the Family in
, D.C. She attended the training program in Bowen theory four times a year from 2000 to 2004. During this time Dr. Paul became familiar with the ideas and theory developed by Murray Bowen, M.D. who was a pioneer in the early years of family therapy. Dr. Paul’s approach to therapy is based on Bowen Family Systems theory.
Dr. Paul is also an AAMFT supervisor with many years experience as a supervisor for students and registered interns preparing to become licensed therapists. She is associated with the Youth and Family Services department of the San Diego YMCA where she directs the YMCA Counseling program and trains clinicians enrolled in marriage and family programs at local universities.
